Memorial Day weekend will mark the opening of pools and beaches in state parks
Indianapolis, Indiana – This weekend, Indiana State Park swimming pools and several Department of Natural Resources swimming facilities will open to the public.
Saturday, the following state park pools will open:
• Brown County
• Clifty Falls
• McCormick’s Creek
• O’Bannon Woods
• Prophetstown
• Shakamak
• Spring Mill
• Turkey Run
• Versailles
The Cagles Mill Lake (Lieber State Recreation Area) public pool will open on Sunday. On Saturday, the Cagles Mill Lake swimming facility will open.
Saturday will mark the opening of the shoreline at Indiana Dunes State Park, with lifeguards on duty.
This weekend will also see the opening of a number of state park beaches without lifeguards:
• Chain O’Lakes
• Lincoln
• Ouabache
• Pokagon
• Potato Creek
• Summit Lake
• Whitewater Memorial
Saturday marks the beginning of the season for the shores at Monroe and Patoka Lakes, the Ferdinand State Forest, and a number of other state properties.
Lifeguard positions are still being accepted applications from qualified 15-year-olds and senior applicants. Visit stateparks.IN.gov for more information.
