Monroe County reports second highest daily COVID-19 case increase
Monroe County, Indiana – Monroe County reported 151 new COVID-19 cases in the last day in a Tuesday afternoon update. This is the second highest single-day total behind 237 cases on Sept. 10.
Indiana’s District 8 — where Monroe County is located — had the three highest single-day totals of coronavirus cases in the last five days. The state’s dashboard shows a strong upward trend in positive cases in District 8 since late August when the fall semester for IU began.
Monroe County now reports 2,180 total coronavirus cases.
The state flagged Monroe County in a Sept. 6 update as an area with a large increase in positive cases. In that update, the dashboard noted not all negative tests from IU were included because of lab onboarding.
