Mug-n-Bun is one of the best burgers ever according to “Man v. Food”
Speedway, Indiana – Numerous burgers from all throughout the nation have made “Man vs. Food” mythology and some of them have even defeated the men who were willing to take the challenge. Which ones, though, really stood out?
Mug-n-Monster Bun’s made the list of top burgers featured in “Man v. Food” challenges published by Mashed.
The seventh season of The Travel Channel show included a segment on The Speedway drive-in. Every episode featured the show’s first host Adam Richman and his successor Casey Webb taking on enormous culinary challenges like eating a 72-ounce steak at a Texas steakhouse or 15 dozen oysters in a Louisiana diner.
The Monster combination lunch from The Mug-n-Bun was chosen as the opponent for host Casey Webb. The Monster consists of a family-size serving of fries, a 32-ounce mug of root beer, and a deluxe triple tenderloin sandwich. To enter the Mug-n-Bun hall of fame, you must complete it in 30 minutes or fewer.
“Only ten out of 300 people had won this challenge when Webb arrived, and he hoped to become number 11,” wrote Mashed.
Spoiler alert: Webb came as close as you can get, but the bread finally got the better of him, and man was defeated by food.
At $2.2 million, The Mug-n-Bun is currently up for sale. The present owner has expressed his hope that the restaurant’s legacy will be continued by the ultimate buyer.
