New, higher starting pay for skilled trades positions, INDOT to pay up to $20 per hour
Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indiana Department of Transportation boosted the starting pay for open skilled trades positions.
In an effort to attract new workers, INDOT will pay up to $20 per hour for the entry positions for applicants who have a valid commercial driver’s license. Those without license will be paid $19 per hours the agency said in a statement.
Available positions include highway maintenance technicians, heavy equipment operators, fleet and equipment mechanics, construction inspectors, traffic signal technicians and construction project managers.
According to the press release, INDOT will also pay CDL training in the first 90 days of employment. INDOT added they will organize multiple fairs in the upcoming period. The first job fair will take place on June 24th.
