One person is critically injured in a shooting on Indianapolis’ east side

Indianapolis, Indiana – One victim of a shooting on Saturday night in Indianapolis’ east side is in critical condition.

Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department rushed to the 200 block of Legends Creek Place on Saturday night in response to a complaint of a shooting at around 9:30 p.m. Officers found an individual with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound when they got on the scene.

According to IMPD, the individual was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The victim of the gunshot was identified as an adult male by IMPD Captain Mark McCardia.

According to McCardia, when the detectives arrived at the apartment complex, they found “a handful” of shot casings outside. McCardia said that inside the apartment complex, police discovered a male who had been shot in the stomach.

Investigators initially thought that someone fired rounds from a nearby walkway at the apartment complex.

As of the publication of this article, no arrests had been made in connection with this case by authorities.
