Opera Cabaret is an evening of theater, cuisine, and song presented by Indianapolis Opera
Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Opera’s next Opera Cabaret promises a magical evening of song, theater, and a three-course dinner.
Mezzo-soprano Tzytle Steinman and baritone Jake Surzyn visited News 8 at Daybreak to discuss what theatergoers can see and hear during the cabaret.
“The Opera Cabaret is a private gathering where the artists will be addressing the audience directly,” stated Surzyn. They will be singing the arias that they will be performing, and the repertoire will include a wide range of genres, including jazz standards, musical theater, and, of course, operatic canon.
As a significant fundraiser for the opera organization, the cabaret is presented in conjunction with the opera’s 50th anniversary.
On October 9, from 6 to 9 p.m., Union 50, located at 620 N. East St., will host the event. The cost of tickets is $170.
