Plainfield company to close, eliminating 79 jobs

Indianapolis, Indiana – 79 jobs will be lost when R.R. Donnelley and Sons shut down its Plainfield location.
In a notification to the state and a posting to the Department of Workforce Development website on Friday, the company acknowledged the proposal.
The factory on Airtech Parkway close to Indianapolis International Airport was permanently closed for the stated cause of “changing market conditions,” according to RRD.
The 270,000-square-foot facility is one of the biggest in the company, according to RRD’s website.
“RRD Plainfield provides final-stage product assembly, medical device kitting, direct-to-consumer web fulfillment, and point-of-purchase (POP) display assembly,” according to the company website.
The corporation informed state officials that the closing would start on May 14 and be finished in two weeks.
