Police uncover a Mauckport man’s truck in the Ohio River and arrest him for meth
Mauckport, Indiana – After troopers retrieved the man’s car from the Ohio River, Mauckport resident was taken into custody by Indiana State Police.
A car near the Mauckport boat ramp that was submerged in the Ohio River was reported to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department on Friday.
First responders and policemen from the Indiana State Police also responded. An F-150 pickup that had backed too far down the boat ramp and was mostly buried in the Ohio River was discovered by first responders when they arrived. The driver, James Schuppert, 61, of Mauckport, Indiana, was recognized. Schuppert was known to the officers, and they were aware that he was wanted for arrest.
Schuppert and his car were recovered by A-1 Towing with the help of a scuba diver trooper. Schuppert was arrested and brought to the Harrison County Jail in order to serve his outstanding arrest warrant as soon as he returned to land.
After being taken into custody, Schuppert was initially accused of producing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, and having paraphernalia.
