Pop Con celebrates another big year
Indianapolis, Indiana – Pop Con Indy had another year to remember. Tens of thousands of people flocked to the convention center for a whole weekend devoted to everything pop culture thanks to the fan-favorite event.
Fans enjoyed a range of interactive activities, laser tag, escape rooms, and celebrity panels this year. Among the celebrities present were Dean Norris from Breaking Bad, Chandler Riggs from The Walking Dead, Elijah Wood and Andy Serkis from The Lord of the Rings, and more.
“People have turned us into their annual vacation, ” said Carl Doninger, the co-owner of Pop Con, “Friends come from all over the country and this weekend is when they get together – it’s the ‘friend-cation.’ It’s just a place to be yourself all weekend, all walks of life, all demographics, all socio-economic backgrounds to all meet under the roof of Pop Con and have a blast for three days”
The event was in its eleventh year, and its organizers warned that 2024 might surpass previous records as the largest year on record.
“[We are] pretty proud that we are able to have a very good positive economic impact on Central Indiana,” Doninger said. “We are homegrown. We are Hoosiers. Let’s just keep building this together… We can’t wait to keep getting bigger and better for Indianapolis.”
Pop Con already has plans to return to the convention center next summer if you were unable to attend this year!
