Puppy racing coming to Indy

Indianapolis, Indiana – At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, a regular NBA game occasionally takes place. On other days, there is puppy racing during an NBA game.
Nine pups will run onto the floor during halftime of the March 18 Indiana Pacers vs. Philadelphia 76ers game.
The event is being co-hosted by IndyHumane.
The dribbling dogs will compete in a PetSmart Puppy Racing for rewards.
The puppies, which range in age from 8 to 12 weeks, will compete for rewards and be up for adoption during the game. They can be temporarily held for adoption even though they are unable to return home that evening, according to a news statement.
Team B-Ball and Team Halftime will compete for prizes in the race! Team B-Ball is made up of pups Swish, Dribble, Hoops, and Buckets, who are 12 weeks old. Team Halftime is made up of puppies Candy, Smooches, Pinky, Pookie, and Crush, who are 8 weeks old.
“We are so excited to partner with PetSmart®, PetSmart Charities®, and the NBA for a second time to spread some joy to the people watching and hopefully find these puppies homes!” says IndyHumane CEO Donna Casamento. “We hope everyone enjoys watching the puppy races and some fans are inspired to adopt.”
