Remains are discovered by police in the same spot where a mother from southern Indiana was last seen
Scott County, Indiana – In the same spot where a missing mother of three was last seen prior to her abduction in September, authorities in southern Indiana have discovered human remains.
Skeletal remains were discovered by Indiana State Police investigators and deputies on Nov. 12 while exploring a forested property, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
According to SCSO, the property was located in the same neighborhood as the last sighting of Amanda Martin, a mother of three who went missing on September 24. Martin was last heard in the vicinity of the Frog Pond Road region in eastern Scott County, according to earlier accounts.
According to police, the last time Martin’s family spoke with her was on September 13.
Deputies were still looking for Martin as of early November. The relatives of the missing woman also declared a $1,500 reward for anyone who could bring them to the woman’s known location.
Martin was a 5-foot, 130-pound woman with long brown hair, according to the police.
According to SCSO, investigators have located the remains and are attempting to determine the cause of death and identity of the deceased. Within six to eight weeks, the forensic examination’s findings will be accessible.
According to Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin, they will keep looking into every clue in order to come to a “factual conclusion.”
“While we are saddened by the remains found yesterday, we also recognize that a family may now start to move on,” Goodin stated. “This is an ongoing investigation, and I personally value our law enforcement partners’ assistance.” We’re still working together to find the truth about what transpired here. Please give us a call if you have any information that could aid us in this inquiry.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the case to call them at 812-752-5550 or 911.
