Sandwich-scarfing competition held at Hoagies and Hops for a good cause

Indianapolis, Indiana – Hoagies & Hops, an Indianapolis sandwich shop on the city’s near northside, is holding its 7th annual hoagie eating contest, with all earnings going to a good cause.
All proceeds from the competition will go to the regional nonprofit organization Helping Veterans and Families of Indiana, which assists homeless and vulnerable veterans in regaining self-sufficiency.
Helping Veterans offers a variety of services to people in need, including general outreach to veterans as well as assistance with housing and jobs for veterans.
In the official Hoagies and Hops competition, sandwich eaters will attempt to consume an 18-inch hoagie as quickly as they can. Owner of Hoagies and Hops, Kristina Mazza, claims that the restaurant receives all of the day’s donated sandwich ingredients.
The contest is scheduled on September 16 at 2:30 pm.
There is a $25 admission fee. Every entry fee payment will result in a $20 donation to Helping Veterans. 10% of all food and beverage sales for the day at Hoagies and Hops will also be donated.
Twenty to twenty-four people can enter the sweepstakes, and they will all compete for a chance to win a year’s worth of free hoagies. A personalized hoagie platter made by Pottery by You is also included.
For more information or to enter, contact Mazza via email at [email protected] or by visiting the location at 4155 Boulevard Pl.
