Saturday morning accident on I-465 fatal for one pedestrian, semi-tractor trailer involved
Indianapolis, Indiana – One person is dead after he was struck by semi-tractor trailer on I-465 Saturday morning officials say.
According to police, the man was killed after he was struck by the semi at the 16.3 mile marker of I-465 on the west side of Indianapolis just before 4:20 a.m.
When first responders arrived at the scene, the semi has stopped in the middle of the road and the victim was laying down on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive. He was immediately transferred in hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The identity of the victim was not revealed by police.
There is ongoing investigation that should reveal what happened and what was the victim doing at the Interstate.
All lanes were closed for traffic, but reopened as soon as the investigation at the scene was finished.
