Shooting at Plainfield motel, 2 people die, 2 injured
Plainfield, Indiana – According to police, two men died and two other men were injured following a shooting Saturday night at a hotel on U.S. 40.
At about 9:25 p.m. Saturday, Plainfield Police Department was called to the shooting in the parking lot of White House Suites, 2688 E. Main St. That’s west of Ronald Reagan Parkway.
According to Lt. Gary Tanner of the department, one man died in the parking lot.
Two other men were sent to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, but one of them died on the way to the hospital. The man at Eskenazi was in critical condition. The other man was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police were talking late Saturday night with a person of interest. However, the motive for the shooting was not immediately known, yet police believe it was an isolated incident.
Occupants of the hotel were encouraged to stay in their rooms after the shooting.
An investigation is underway.
