Shooting on the city’s near-east side claims one life
Indianapolis, Indiana – Following a shooting on the city’s near-east side on Thursday afternoon, a man was discovered dead in a backyard from gunshot wounds.
Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department discovered a gunshot victim in the 1600 block of East Ohio Street just before 1:00 p.m. That’s a neighborhood close to the intersection of Washington Street and State Avenue.
The shooting’s cause and the existence of any suspects were not disclosed by the IMPD.
Once his family is informed, the Marion County Coroner’s Office will reveal the man’s identify.
