Sunday marks the beginning of Southport Road traffic changes
Indianapolis, Indiana – According to a statement released on Friday, there will be some traffic adjustments beginning on Sunday on Southport Road and State Road 37.
The switches, according to INDOT, enable workers to carry on with interchange construction at Southport Road and Interstate 69.
A week is anticipated for the closures. Old Southport Road and Banta Road ramps will be closed for the duration of this closure, however, they will reopen at the conclusion of the seven-day period.
When State Road 37 reopens, the new pavement will be used for traffic. According to INDOT, the posted limit will still be 45 mph.
State Road 37 between Indianapolis and Martinsville is planned to be improved during construction, while I-69 between Evansville and Indianapolis is expected to be finished as well. By the end of 2024, I-69 construction is anticipated to be complete.
