Indianapolis, Indiana – During a car stop on Indianapolis’ northeast side, three teenagers were discovered to be in possession of both drugs and guns. As a result, they were arrested on Friday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department posted on social media that on Friday, in response to a reported traffic infraction, officers from the department’s north district and the violence reduction team pulled over a vehicle in the vicinity of E. 46th Street and Shadeland Avenue.

According to the post, authorities smelt marijuana coming from the automobile as they drew closer. During the automobile search, the officers allegedly found three guns, one of which had a machine gun conversion mechanism installed. Reports further state that drugs and other paraphernalia were discovered by the officers inside the car.

According to the post, Keylon Andrews, age 18, was taken into custody for having marijuana. Although they were not named by the department, two more teenagers were also taken into custody. Possession of marijuana, drugs, and a handgun in a dangerous manner all resulted in the arrest of one teenager. The other teenager was taken into custody on charges of possessing a machine gun, marijuana, and a firearm in a dangerous manner.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will ultimately decide whether to charge someone in this case, according to officials.
