Two MCCSC Students Win Bill Of Rights Contest
Monroe County, Indiana – On Wednesday night two Monroe County Community School students were recognized for winning a Bill of Rights contest.
The United States Courts of Appeals along with the United States District Courts for the 7th and 8th Circuits hosted a Bill of Rights contest. Students were encouraged to submit an essay, poem, video, photograph, song, or piece of art on the importance of the Bill of Rights.
The winner from each of the three age groups (K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade) for Indiana was awarded a $50 gift card.
Charles Chen, a 5th grader at University Elementary School won first place in the elementary division in Indiana for an essay he submitted.
Kelton O’Connell, 7th grader at Jackson Creek Middle School won first place in the middle school division in Indiana for a video he submitted.
