Woman from Kokomo hit by automobile while exhibiting burnout at auto exhibition
Kokomo, Indiana – According to a news release from the Kokomo Police Department, a woman was hit by a car performing a burnout as it was leaving a Chrysler Car Show in Kokomo on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday at 2:42 p.m., Kokomo Police Department officers were dispatched to the Kokomo Casting Plant on South Reed Road in regard to a reported automobile strike victim.
Police said they saw a woman who lived in Kokomo attending the car show standing in the grass on the west side of U.S. 931. A 2006 GMC 1500 driven by a man from Greentown is said to have turned south on U.S. 931 as he was leaving the car show.
According to the announcement, the GMC made an attempt at burnout before losing control and spinning into the spectators at the car show. Along with other vehicles at the car show, the Kokomo woman was also struck.
Following the accident, first responders arrived on the scene, and the Kokomo woman was taken to a nearby hospital to receive additional care. The Kokomo Police Department is presently looking into the incident.
