Woman killed by gunfire at her home on 96th east of I-69

Indianapolis, Indiana – Police say a lady was found dead from gunshot wounds on Friday in a house off 96th Street, close to I-69.
According to the 9500 block of Village Way, it occurred just before 4 p.m. on Friday, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. On the city’s boundary with Fishers, that is in the Geist Landing area close to a Meijer shop.
Before the woman was discovered, witnesses were speaking to police, according to IMPD Lt. Shane Foley, about seeing a car depart the scene. On Friday afternoon, however, there was no vehicle description provided.
Foley reported that no evidence of forced entry was discovered.
Police are unsure at this time if this shooting was intentional or the consequence of a domestic dispute.
