$1.8 million federal grant given to Cass County Agribusiness Park to make renovations
Cass County, Indiana – The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced that the Cass County Agribusiness Park will receive a $1.8 million federal grant for improvements to its road infrastructure.
The U.S. Department of Commerce released a news release recently stating that the project is anticipated to bring more corporate activities to the park and sustain industrial growth in an area affected by shifts in the energy sector.
“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is about empowering all communities with the resources they need to lift up working families. That’s precisely what this award will do by helping those impacted by shifts in the energy sector to grow and diversify their economies,” Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo said in the release. “This EDA investment in critical road infrastructure will strengthen Cass County Agribusiness Park’s role as an economic driver in the region for decades to come.”
According to officials, $1.4 million in local contributions are anticipated to be matched by the investment. In total, the project is anticipated to create $68.5 million in private investment and keep more than 200 employees. The department’s Assistance to Coal Communities program provided funding for this endeavor.
