Just after two in the morning, a second shooting took place on the 1500 block of North Tacoma Avenue, close to Brookside Parkway. When police arrived, they discovered a man who had been shot. According to authorities, the man who was shot said to officers that someone driving by shot him as he was walking down the street. He is breathing and awake.
Around 5:30 a.m., the third shooting took place on East Pleasant Run Parkway close to Linwood Avenue. The patient’s condition is steady.
Regarding these instances, no additional information has been made public.
Indianapolis TenPoint Coalition President, Rev. Charles Harrison says he’s discouraged by the violence this week. He hopes people will come forward to help the police.
“People see things on the street and they are afraid to talk, but we have neighborhood groups that are leading the charge I think they are able to get more people to speak up and come forward,” he said.
Harrison adds that community organizations like “TenPoint Coalition” relieve some of the pressure on the police.
