9-year-old shot in residential area near Indiana State Fairgrounds
Indianapolis, Indiana – Following an initial report of a person shot, Indianapolis police discovered a 9-year-old injured early on Thursday.
In the 4200 block of Evanston Avenue, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a report shortly after 12:20 a.m. on Thursday. That’s in a neighborhood not far from the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ northeast corner – less than a block away.
The gender of the child has not been disclosed by IMPD. According to IMPD, the child was stable as of 12:34 a.m.
According to the authorities, the toddler was hit by a bullet that came from outside a house.
No information on the shooting’s cause, whether a suspect is in custody, or any other details about the case have been released by the police.
