Bluffton man was taken into custody for having child pornography
Bluffton, Indiana – Indiana State Police reported in a news release on Sunday that a Bluffton man was taken into custody by troopers on Friday for having child pornography on his person.
The Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force carried out a residence search warrant in the 3500 block of County Road 100 East in Bluffton at 9:30 a.m. on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into child pornography.
Officers discovered enough information throughout the search to justify Jamie L. Bessent, 50, of Bluffton’s arrest. Bessent was taken into custody by officers without any problems, and they took him to the Wells County Jail. There, he was registered and first accused of possessing three counts of child pornography.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent tip information to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which sparked the investigation.
If you know anything about online crimes against minors, you should report it to NCMEC at https://report.cybertip.org/ or get in touch with your local law enforcement agency.
