An Osgood man’s body found in Versailles Lake in Ripley County
Ripley County, Indiana – Sunday night, the 18-year-old Carson Hughes’s body was removed from Versailles Lake in Ripley County by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
A press release stated that Hughes was located by conservation officers using sonar equipment in six feet of water.
Hughes was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ripley County Coroner. An autopsy will be performed by officials to help ascertain Hughes’ precise manner and cause of death.
It was Friday evening when Hughes was reported missing.
According to the DNR, conservation officials in Versailles State Park discovered his car next to a boat ramp.
Authorities revealed that when they discovered Hughes’ car, the keys were inside and it was unlocked. There was also an empty kayak lying in the surrounding water.
