Man who entered a guilty plea to drug distribution charges will spend over a decade in prison
Indianapolis, Indiana – A man from Indianapolis who was indicted on drug trafficking charges entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.
Dorian Hayden, 26, entered a guilty plea to the charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and the judge handed him a sentence of twelve and a half years in federal prison. Hayden admitted in his guilty plea that the drugs found in his home during the search were intended for trafficking.
Authorities executed a search warrant at his home, located at the Summerwood on Towne Line Apartments off Township Line Road and 86th Street, on suspicion he was involved in the distribution of illegal substances. At the moment they arrived in front of his home, they observed him leaving his home with a vehicle.
As they were aware that Hayden had a suspended driver’s license, officers conducted a traffic stop and found him in possession of two loaded handguns. While searching his apartment, authorities discovered $38,468 in cash, a loaded semiautomatic pistol, approximately two ounces of heroin, and slightly over 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine.
The search also showed he possessed digital scales, a digital money counter, and two metal industrial presses, which authorities said were used as equipment in the distribution of the illegal substances.
