People in Greenwood celebrate Christmas
Greenwood, Indiana – Officials in Greenwood are celebrating the holidays and invite you to do the same.
Greenwood is where Mayor Mark Myers was raised. He claims that Christmas is one of his favorite holidays and is happy that they can cheer up the neighborhood.
Giving children a location to drop off letters to Santa Claus is one way the city is spreading holiday pleasure in the neighborhood. Children can post their letters to Santa Claus at the mailbox located inside the KiD CiTY area of the Greenwood Community Center.
Kenzie Winget, 9, left her Christmas letter for Santa in the hopes of receiving an American Girl Doll and a Roblox gift card.
The deputy director of Greenwood Parks & Recreation is her mother, Jen Winget. The coloring competition is just one of the many holiday activities available, according to her.
“On December 10, kids will get to eat breakfast here. That event is sold out,” Jen Winget said. “It’s something our families love. So be sure to purchase your tickets early for next year.”
Visitors can also delight in a path of holiday lights at the Greenwood Amphitheater, according to Rob Taggart, director of Greenwood Parks & Recreation.
“There are a total of 42,840 lights. We started work in November,” Taggart said. “This is free and it can be accessed through the Greenwood Community Center parking lot.”
