Edinburgh kid shot and killed; suspect taken into custody
Edinburg, Indiana – A 20-year-old suspect is being held at the Johnson County Jail on suspicion of fatally shooting a teenage boy on Saturday night in Edinburgh, Indiana.
Pedro Castillo-Salmeron, 20, was detained for reckless homicide on Saturday night not long after the event, according to the Edinburgh Police Department.
The adolescent was discovered by police with a gunshot wound to his chest after they were called to the 600 block of South Pleasant Street on Saturday night.
Castillo-Salmeron allegedly fled the site of the shooting but was subsequently safely captured by police.
According to police, there are no other suspects and there is no known motive for the shooting.
