Three people hurt and one person died in the incident on the south side
Indianapolis, Indiana – The south side Steak ‘n Shake parking lot was the scene of a quadruple shooting that left one person dead, according to the IMPD.
Just after 11 p.m. on Thursday, IMPD reported that they had been called to a shooting scene in the 4000 block of S. East Street. They discovered four shot males when they got there.
Three of the victims were sent to a nearby hospital in stable condition after being discovered alive and breathing inside the Steak ‘n Shake.
In the parking lot, the fourth victim was discovered to be unresponsive. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.
“We do not believe that the Steak ‘n Shake business is associated in any way with the shooting other than the individuals were in the parking lot,” said IMPD Major Mike Leepper. “The three individuals that sustained gunshot wounds that are still alive ran inside the business for help.”
The possible causes of the shooting are being looked at by the police.
“Our agency will not stand for this. Our agency will do everything in their power too bring whoever is involved in this justice,” said Leepper.
You’re urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477 or (TIPS) if you have any information.
