Following a crash on SR46, 1 Gosport man is dead, 5 others injured
Ellettsville, Indiana – According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, a significant collision involving six people resulted in the death of one man.
Officers were called at 4:37 pm on Friday in response to a complaint of a crash on SR46, which is located west of Ellettsville and east of the intersection with West Flatwoods Road.
Officers arrived and found both vehicles had sustained severe damage. The first motorist was operating a blue Subaru Legacy, and the second was operating a Ford E350 Super Duty. Four people were also riding in the Ford.
The Monroe County Coroner declared the driver of the Subaru Legacy, William D. Kenfield of Gosport, dead at the scene. Kenfield had a 68-year-old age.
The Ford’s four occupants, including the driver, were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
As more material becomes available, it will be added to this continuing investigation.
