Two people detained during a Richmond traffic check where meth, fentanyl, and heroin are found
Richmond, Indiana – Two individuals from Wayne County were detained by Indiana State Police on methamphetamine trafficking charges.
On May 21, after midnight, a state trooper on patrol near North A Street and North 12th Street in Richmond pulled over an automobile after observing an “equipment violation.”
However, something didn’t feel quite right about the stop. After identifying “indicators of criminal activity,” the trooper requested the assistance of a Richmond police officer and his K9 partner. A search was conducted after the dog detected drugs in the automobile.
Investigators discovered 2 grams of heroin, 7 grams of fentanyl, and 67.7 grams of methamphetamine in the automobile. They also found other things related to drug trafficking, as well as $941 in cash.
Both the driver, Krystina A. Morris, 29, of Cambridge City, and the passenger, Gregory J. Dobbs, 44, of Richmond, were detained by police. According to authorities, Dobbs was wanted for selling methamphetamine.
The Wayne County Jail received a booking for both people on accusations of dealing methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, possessing a narcotic substance, possessing paraphernalia, and dealing a narcotic drug.
