Businesses experience a large influx during the Indy 500 race weekend
Indianapolis, Indiana – This weekend, the Indianapolis 500 is underway, and business is flourishing at Speedway.
They claim that having thousands of people in town on race day is providing them with some much-needed extra money.
Jordan Birden, a fan of the races, said he had a great passion for them. It will be his son’s first Indianapolis 500 this year, a tradition he hopes to continue for many more.
Every year, a new person wants to join the 52-member crew that Birden brings up here, he added.
He remarked that it’s wonderful to meet new individuals from all around the world who come to take part in the pre-race activities.
Additionally, local businesses reported a busy weekend.
Angie Averitt, a worker at the Famous Soda and Candy Company, claimed that increased foot traffic had boosted sales.
Yes, Speedway’s town of Speedway has a terrific May. Period,” Averitt remarked.
Marcia Huff, whose daughter owns Barbecue & Bourbon, was another person we spoke with.
She said that over the race weekend, business had increased by fourfold.
“We look forward to this month all year. In particular, the second week of May because tomorrow everything just blows up, according to Huff.
On race day, every establishment on Main Street is ready for the crowds.
