A captain in the Indiana National Guard dies in an Iraqi “noncombat incident”

Indianapolis, Indiana – Last week, an Indiana National Guard soldier lost their life in Iraq.

Captain Eric Richard Hart passed away on December 28, the National Guard’s public affairs office said in a news release. According to the National Guard and the Department of Defense, Hart died as a consequence of a “noncombat-related incident.”

According to the National Guard, the incident that resulted in Hart’s death is still under investigation. Hart was an Indianapolis native who was 34 years old.

In a prepared statement, Indiana National Guard officials said, “The Indiana National Guard extends our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Capt. Eric Hart, who died in a non-combat incident while overseas serving with the 38th Infantry Division in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.” “They and the soldiers who worked and served with Capt.
