An 18-year-old shot and murdered in Morgan County

Morgan County, Indiana – The shooting on Sunday just after midnight that left a man dead is being looked into by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

A news release states that on the report of a person shot, MCSO deputies were sent to the vicinity of State Road 142 and State Road 39 shortly before 12:30 a.m. When the officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot, and the Morgan County Coroner’s Office declared him dead there and then.

According to a press release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Thawng Tha Sang, age 18, has been identified as the deceased.

A preliminary investigation, according to the MCSO, found that the incident happened at a house in the 1100 block of Robb Hill Road. The victim allegedly drove away from the scene and stopped close to SR 39 and SR 142, where he subsequently passed away.

The police stated that as of right now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. According to law police, the gunshot was an isolated event and the community is not currently in danger.
