Pig pile up on State Route 37 after truck tips, no reports of major injuries to humans.

Bloomington, Indiana – When a semi-truck collided with an automobile on State Road 37 at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday, nine pigs were killed in the accident.
It was reported that neither car caused any major injury to any human beings. It was a vehicle that was transporting 162 pigs.
Several pigs that had become loose as a result of the accident were brought under control with the assistance of first responders from the Monroe County Fire Department and Indiana State Troopers. According to Jason Allen, who serves as the public relations officer for the Monroe Fire Protection District, a number of selfless individuals contributed to the effort by constructing a makeshift pen in order to corral the nervous pigs.
A second vehicle was sent out to collect the pigs.
It was approximately 2:15 p.m. when Allen reported that the accident had been nearly cleaned up, and the route is expected to open early this afternoon.
