An Ohio man dies in Randolph County after being struck by a train as he crossed railroad tracks

Winchester, Indiana – The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reports that an Ohio man was killed early on Saturday morning in Randolph County after being struck by a train.
The Randolph County 911 Center received a call about a train crash on County Roads 400 East and 100 North at around 8:10 in the morning.
When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered that Tristan Fullenkamp, of St. Henry, Ohio, was operating a 2004 Ford F150 that had stopped at a railroad crossing on C.R. 400 E. as an eastbound train was passing by.
Fullenkamp drove onto the tracks after the train had passed, then a second train headed west struck him.
Fullenkamp’s truck was propelled nearly a mile to the west by the train.
Firefighters managed to free Fullenkamp from his car. He was transferred to Reid Hospital, where doctors there declared him dead.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, investigators are trying to learn more about the collision.
20 minutes from the Indiana-Ohio border, Winchester is located in eastern Indiana.
