Arrests made, charges announced in Brownsburg deadly shooting

BROWNSBURG, Ind.– Police say two people were arrested and face charges in connection with Monday’s deadly shooting in Brownsburg.
Marques Hardiman, 18, and Christian Edmon, 17, are now in custody for murder. Edmon, a juvenile, has been identified because his case will be tried in adult court.
According to court documents, 20-year-old Emanuel Fonville and a woman met the two at a shopping center parking lot to sell them marijuana. The woman told police that both suspects were in the back seat of the vehicle, an argument and struggle ensued during the transaction and Fonville was shot.
Investigators say Hardiman and Edmon fled the scene and witnesses were able to identify the license plate number on their vehicle.
Fonville was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police said the license plate number traced back to Edmon, and investigators were able to find contact information in Fonville’s phone leading them to Hardiman.
Both Hardiman and Edmon face counts of felony murder and attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.
A hearing was held Friday afternoon and both are being held without bond.
