Attendance at the Indiana State Fair rises modestly for the second year in a row
Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indiana State Fair reported Thursday that attendance increased modestly for the second year in a row.
The fair reported that 840,414 people attended the 18-day event, a small rise from the 837,568 attendees in 2022 (an increase of less than 1%). In 2021, there were 830,390 participants.
In 2013, the fair’s record attendance of roughly 978,000 was set.
Following the cancellation of the 2020 fair due to the pandemic, organizers added an additional day starting in 2021, but they also extended the schedule by closing on Mondays and Tuesdays to spread it out over a longer period of time. An additional weekend was added to the program due to the new format.
A little more than 50,000 animal- and non-animal-related initiatives were showcased by more than 6,700 exhibitors.
