Indianapolis, Indiana – The secretary of state for Indiana stated earlier this week that over a million people have already cast ballots.

As of October 7, the last day to register to vote in Tuesday’s election, there were over 4.8 million registered voters in Indiana.

The office of Secretary of State Diego Morales does not maintain a live daily tally of the number of voters on its website. In a news release on Thursday, the Republican expressed his pride in the Hoosiers’ ability to cast ballots.

Before Tuesday’s election, certain polling places in Hamilton County, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis had wait times of over two hours on Friday and Saturday, according to indyvotetimes.org. Voter wait times at early voting locations and Election Day precincts in the counties of Allen, Boone, Hamilton, Marion, and Vigo are being monitored by the website.

Throughout the state, early voting concludes Monday at noon. On Tuesday, the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You may get general information about Indiana voting on the secretary of state’s website.

Additionally, voters in Indiana who have questions or concerns about the election can text the initials “IN” to 45995.
