Bloomington Man Arrested After Found Intoxicated, Waving at Passing Vehicles
(BEDFORD) – A Bloomington man was arrested Saturday night on drug charges after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to the 6100 block of US 50 East after a report of a male being belligerent and refusing to leave.
When police arrived they located 26-year-old William Bennett walking along the highway in the rain.
“While speaking to Bennett the officer noticed signs of intoxication and found Bennett in possession of a digital scale with a residue that field-tested positive for meth,” said Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “At times Bennett would wave and yell at passing vehicles and was uncooperative with officers. He was subsequently arrested and transported to jail.”
Bennett is facing charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
