Bloomington man was detained and placed under arrest in relation to a murder
Bloomington, Indiana – According to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a 34-year-old Bloomington male who was detained and accused of murder on Saturday was placed on remand into the Monroe County Correctional Center.
At 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of an unexplained disturbance and discovered a body with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators are currently looking into this death.
The residents’ neighbors have stated that there are frequent fights between them.
When deputies arrived, they also discovered a civilian-style stun pistol and tazer next to the body, similar to an AR-15.
After that, Bryce Leighton, the suspect, was taken to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for more investigation and remanded. There is no definite date for his trial yet.
The case is currently being looked into by the detective division of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office.
