Body discovered inside a burning house in Morgan County
Morgan County, Indiana – Emergency services were called to 292 South Arthur Road, which is close to Paragon, Indiana, for a residential fire, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighters discovered a fully engulfed log cabin-style residence when they got at the location at around 8:20 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the Martinsville Fire Department.
By the time first responders arrived on the scene, according to MFD, the fire had largely collapsed into the basement. According to MFD, the fire was contained in roughly two hours.
According to MFD, a local person who had inhaled smoke was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Once the fire was put out, investigators found the body amid the debris.
Police do not think that the fire or the person’s death were caused by any suspicious circumstances as of the publication of this report. The investigation into the fire’s cause is still ongoing.
