Changes to look for at Lucas Oil Stadium as Colts return for preseason action
Indianapolis, Indiana – This Sunday marks the first time your Indianapolis Colts have taken the field since a difficult conclusion to the 2023 campaign.
There has been activity at Lucas Oil Stadium despite the offseason. Millions of gallons of water were used for the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials, an LED basketball court was installed for the NBA All-Star Weekend, and tons of dirt were placed in the Colts’ stadium for Monster Jam.
The gridiron is back, and this time it’s on a new field.
According to Colts Vice President of Communications Steve Campbell, “the fans probably won’t notice anything about it.” “This is the most cutting-edge turf available at the moment.”
The font used for the words “Indianapolis” and “Colts” at both end zones has changed, as some keen-eyed fans may have noticed.
“We have a little bit of an updated look and feel because the Indianapolis Colts have been using the same font for 50 or 60 years,” Campbell said.
With new additions to the menu including loaded fries, footlong corn dogs, pulled pork mac and cheese, and more, Colts concessions are moving well beyond the traditional popcorn and peanuts.
One of the largest pregame customs being moved by the Colts is the Anvil being among the fans this year.
“We’re relocating that to Lucas Oil Plaza so that supporters can participate in it,” Campbell declared.
Of course, classic pregame activities like Touchdown Town will return. The Colts Training Camp fans said that on Friday are eager to return to the excitement of home games.
The fans are eager to return to these blue chairs.
It’s merely a lot of fun. Bob Gott, a Colts season ticket holder, stated, “I enjoy being a part of the entire crowd.”
Gott and the others we spoke with have high hopes for this coming season.
“I’m hoping Anthony Richardson can lead us to the Super Bowl and has a good, healthy season,” Gott remarked.
