Child hurt after dragged by vehicle outside school on Indy’s east side

Indianapolis, Indiana – After being pulled by a car outside a school on Indianapolis’ far east side, a child was taken to a hospital.
Just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, police from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to Phalen Leadership Academy @ 103, an IPS Innovation Network School located at 3920 Baker Drive.
In front of the school, a male student was exiting a car when he became entangled in rope stored inside the car and was hauled many feet, according to PLA@103 Principal Matt Rimer.
Until medical help arrived, school staff members took care of the child. When brought to a nearby hospital, he was in good condition.
According to school authorities, police were questioning the car’s driver.
There have been no arrests, and no new details have come to light.
