Closing of AMC CLASSIC Bloomington 11 on September 15

Bloomington, Indiana – On September 15, the AMC CLASSIC Bloomington 11 theater, which is situated at 1351 S College Mall Rd., will shut down. AMC bought the theater in 2010 and changed the name from Kerasotes ShowPlace East 11.
AMC’s head of corporate relations, Barry Brakeville, stated in an email that the location will stop operating on September 15.
“AMC routinely reviews the theatres in our circuit, as well as opportunities outside of our circuit, and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the Company going forward,” Brakeville said in the email.
Customers can still go to the AMC CLASSIC Columbus 12 or any Indianapolis theater, according to Brakeville, which is located at 2929 West 3rd Street in Bloomington. The closest AMC theater in Indianapolis, AMC Indianapolis 17, is around 47 miles from Bloomington, while AMC CLASSIC Columbus is about 39 miles distant.
AMC is a significant American theater chain that was established in the 1920s. AMC recently sold 40 million shares of stock to raise $325 million, and between June 2022 and June 2023, its total revenue increased by 16%.
“We thank our Bloomington AMC 11 guests for their patronage,” Brakeville said in the email.
