Indianapolis pedestrian killed when struck by lorry between West 10th and Centennial streets

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Thursday night on Indianapolis’ west side, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a semitractor, according to the police.
The pedestrian’s identity was not immediately made public.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the collision between West 10th and North Centennial Streets around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday. A few streets west of North Tibbs Avenue is where that is.
According to an email from IMPD Lt. Shane Foley, a department spokesperson, the pedestrian stepped off the street corner and was struck by the semi’s rear wheels as it was northbound on Centennial and turning east onto 10th.
While detectives stayed at the scene of the collision, the pedestrian passed away at Eskenazi Hospital.
The truck driver stayed at the scene of the collision.
