Duke brings nearly 62k customers’ power back
Plainfield, Indiana – Following Hurricane Helene’s aftermath on Friday, which resulted in delays, closures, outages, and damages, Duke Energy announced on Saturday that it had successfully restored power to over 62,000 of its Indiana customers.
Over 70,000 people were impacted by the disruptions, according to Duke.
In the end, the business made great strides in resuming operations overnight. Just over 5,000 of Duke Energy’s Indiana customers lacked electricity as of 12:46 p.m. on Saturday.
Over 25 of Duke’s Indiana operation centers were impacted by strong winds and heavy rain, though the entire extent of the damage is still being assessed, the company said.
Duke Energy also stated that as soon as it has gathered sufficient data and evaluated all of the damages, it would offer more updates, including projected restoration times.
