Dwayne Allen on career, last Colts’ win in Jacksonville

Indiana – It’s a forgotten fact among ex-players that the Colts haven’t won in Jacksonville since 2014.
Dwayne Allen, a former tight end for the Colts, said, “I was not aware of that.”

It all depends on how you handle the difficulties you encounter. You start off whatever it is, but as Chuck Pagano once said, “it takes a lot of grit.” If you have the correct bunch of people in the locker room, which I think they do, then you have a chance.

The Colts’ most recent victory at EverBank Stadium ended in a 44-17 thrashing, with Allen scoring a one-yard touchdown.

The season he caught eight touchdown passes as the Horseshoes won their final AFC South title and progressed to the conference championship, but the best memory I have of him playing for the Blues is probably going sightseeing in London with me the summer before the Colts’ game against the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.

“This is without a doubt the pinnacle of my career, especially in light of the fact that we haven’t won in Jacksonville or the division since 2014,” Allen chuckled. “The entire 2015 season that we co-hosted the “Dwayne Allen Show” has to be the other highlight. That was the main attraction. That might have played a part in our failure to win the division.

Yes, in front of a live audience, Dwayne and I hosted a weekly television show.

“That’s what’s so great about football,” Allen remarked. It unites individuals. You are a teammate and rockstar, and I appreciate that you come alongside me, support, and carry the show on your back as it provides all these really amazing experiences for us to enjoy.

Following the show, Allen spent one more season in Indianapolis before being traded to the Patriots, who were the defending Super Bowl winners.

“When Stephon Gilmore sees me pouting when I get there, he asks, ‘What’s good?'” Allen recounted, “I was like, ‘bro, I just signed a franchise deal last year and they traded me.'” “‘Bro, they traded you to the world champs,’ he exclaimed. The global winners desired you. And I said, “That’s correct.” The world champs are with me. Alright!

In New England, Allen would go on to win world titles himself.

Even though he is currently the NFL Players Association’s West Coast player director, he will always hold a particular place in his heart for the two teams that fulfilled his boyhood ambition.

Allen remarked, “I played a kid’s game for a king’s ransom.” “I will always be appreciative to the Kraft and Irsay families for being my teammates and for allowing me to play with them. Although it was an amazing experience, life moved on, and I now have the opportunity to dedicate my full career to the National Football League.
