Firefighters from Indianapolis battle a house fire near Heyward Drive and 82nd Street

Indianapolis, Indiana – On Friday night, firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department battled a house fire on the northeast side of the city.
Firefighters from the Indianapolis Fire Department were called to a home in the 8000 block of Heyward Drive at 5:33 on Friday in response to a complaint of a house fire. Firefighters discovered that the house was emitting a lot of smoke and flames when they arrived.
In fifty minutes, firefighters extinguished the fire without causing any casualties. During the incident, a family of four had to be evacuated from the property.
Investigators looking into the fires think an electrical problem may have started the fire. Before leaving the house, the residents informed the investigators that they had smelled smoke. After being examined by doctors, the four residents of the house and the four neighbors were cleared to leave.
