Following hospitalization for COVID-19, the mayor of Westfield was released

Westfield, Indiana – Following his hospitalization due to COVID-19 last week, Westfield Mayor Andy Cook was released on Sunday, as his team shared on social media.
Cook returned from vacation last week feeling under the weather and tested positive. Following treatment for COVID-19 and other issues, he was released from the hospital.
“He is currently recovering at home and would like to express his heartfelt gratitude to all those who extended their good wishes for his speedy recovery,” the notice details.
In November, the mayor will not be running for reelection. In 2019, he was elected to a fourth term as mayor. While he served as the town’s first mayor, Westfield expanded from a town of around 8,000 people to a metropolis of more than 54,000.
